US Universities and Colleges

In America, there are private and public universities and colleges and are over 7,500 higher education institutions in the U.S. Many of the world’s most prestigious higher education institutions are in the United States and international students make a considerable percentage of enrolments in these institutions. These institutions include Harvard University and Yale University.

Yale University was stated in 1640s when a group of clergymen started a college. They succeeded with their mission in 1701. Then in 1718, the institution was named Yale College after the Welsh merchant Elihu Yale who made a big and a generous donation after his goods, books and a portrait of King George the 1st. Many international students have studied in Yale University since early 19th century when the first international student who was from China, achieved a degree from this university. Currently, international students in Yale College make nearly 10% and 15% in Yale University. Special Education in USA

In early days, people with disabilities were considered as a curse. People used to believe that disabled people have been inflicted with disabilities by god as a punishment, others were fearful as they related disabilities with superstitious. Often, disabled babies could be abandoned and most of them could die, or they could be hidden away by their family members from the public eyes as they were seen as an embarrassment. The early beginning of the US education system on the east coast in North America started with the advent of the pilgrims fathers in the 16th centuries. They came from Europe with strong Protestant religious beliefs which are enshrined in the Bible which accompanied them. The male soldiers, who often were the only experience people in formal academic education and therefore could read, were fundamentally laymen as well as teachers.  Their weekly were in reality Bible classes wherein the congregations were educated and lectured on moral and codes of good behaviour. This was to ensure that not only the Ten Commandments were strictly adhered to but also the social and thereby the civic and political establishment governing their communities was respected.
